I was at one of those quaint country pubs (I was 5 or 6 back then, but I had an Uncle who knew the bartenders well, and I was too busy playing PONG for alcohol anyway) with a PONG machine.

In all Likelyhood the game you are thinking about has the most unoriginal name imaginable, DND.

DND is arguably the first ever rpg computer game, made in 1972. for more - http://dnd.lunaticsworld.com/
Good times, good times,

But, that's not the one that got me into gaming. Ultima 6 was my first real game, Preceded only by a dungeons and dragons game i can't find the name of that was on the Aquarius home computer (that hooked up to a tv, like the commodore 64 did). All I remember was that it was 1st person and that you had to beat "the white dragon" (who didn't look like a dragon) who could appear on any level. He could be on level 30, or he could be 3 steps from where you start on level 1. frustrating, but addictive.

don't take the piss that was weirdly a good game - with weird music - kinda cool though ^^

-----slightly off topic - best game ever IMo was either "golden axe" (?think it was called that - old megadrive game) - or the ORIGINAL "altered beast" - leet game; shame the remake sucked bad"!

i've been playing games for as long as i can remember so i have no idea what my first game would have been. im guessing it was either super mario world, sonic the hedgehog, or some generic game that my grandma bought me.

the first game i ever owned was super maro 64.

Atari 4 Switch System, Pong, Breakout, Tank (2 player even), and Space Invaders.

Ah yes the old hand held paddle joystick system with 4 movement options and one big red trigger thumb button.

Best Real Time Video Game I have ever played on a computer....
Dungeon Master on my Amiga 500.

My first game ever on the PC was Mech Warrior, I don't know which, I think it was the second one. It was back in the days of windows 95/98, the game came bundled with a ton of other progs on the PC.

I think I might have played Mario when I was very little, back on the super old Nintendo systems, with my cousins I'm sure. But that had no effect on getting me into games really, as I was never able to own a system, it was the PC that got me into them originally.
